- Full Inspection First:
We will do a full and complete inspection and advise you as to what needs to be done to get you the best results possible. We will check for fungal and mold growth that needs to be removed before encapsulation begins. We also check the moisture in your build materials because of the high humidity in the North Alabama area. Most all crawl spaces have elevated moisture levels that need to be dealt with before work begins. - Proprietary Cleaning Process:
Before encapsulating your crawl space, it’s very important to take care of any fungal or mold growth before closing it up. We have been cleaning mold and fungus in crawl spaces for 30 years and no one does it better. We have a proprietary cleaning process that kills the root of the fungus so it does not come back. Most encapsulating companies do not even do this step before they encapsulate your crawlspace. - Drying Your Crawlspace:
All crawl spaces in North Alabama have high humidity and even if there is no standing water in your crawl space it will most likely still need to be dried before encapsulating due to elevated moisture. Moisture also enters your crawl space through the ground and foundation walls. Adding a vapor barrier in your crawl space helps prevent mold growth, wood rot, and pest infestations. We cover the crawl space floor and walls with a heavy-duty vapor barrier. We use a 12 or 20-mil reinforced polymer liner and it is very durable. When installed as part of a complete crawl space encapsulation system, it provides a dry, healthy crawl space that can be safely used for storage. - Humidity Control:
To truly have a full encapsulation you need to control the humidity and there is no way better than to install a properly sized dehumidifier. We use top-of-the-line products to encapsulate your crawl space and we do not cut corners here. It is absolutely essential that you get the proper size dehumidifier and install it in the right location.
